Revolver

Just a quick post today... I'm busy reading for my exam that's coming up in a short time. God I hate exams :(

But here you have the European and the American trailer for Sergio Solimas Revolver aka. Blood in the Streets. The American is way better than the European, which is actually a little boring. But it is nice to get to see both so you can compare them.

Enjoy!
Revolver, 12,3Mb.
Blood in the Streets, 6,54Mb.

MASH

Robert Altman died yesterday. He lived to be 81 years old. In his career he directed over 80 films made for theatrical release and television release. As a little tribute to the man and his work, you'll get a trailer for my favourite Altman film, MASH (1970).

A film about the Vietnam war set in the Korean war is one way to describe it. One of the best anti-war films (and comedies) ever made. It also spawned the best sitcom series ever made, M*A*S*H 4077th, which ran for eleven seasons (1972-83). Pretty impressive when you think about the fact that the Korean war only lasted for a little over three years.

Check out the trailer here, at 9,93Mb. Rest in peace Robert Altman.

Polish poster for MASH.

YouTube: The Sipmsons Movie

The Simpsons is the best animated show on television ever! And now (well, next year that is) the theatrical debut is coming. A new trailer was just released, but first, the teaser:

And now, the trailer (doh!):

If I'm not mistaken, it is the one and only Don LaFontaine doing the voice-over. Anyway, this is probably going to be the best movie in 2007! (Besides Grindhouse of course ;)

Funny Wednesday #1

Pretty much the same deal as with the Secret Fridays, but this will only be funny shit! Here at 9,3Mb. At least stuff that I find funny ;) Enjoy!

DVD news: Synapse to release more compilations!

According to Don May Jr, Synapse are working on a XXX trailer compilation at the moment entitled 42ND STREET FOREVER: XXX-TREME SPECIAL EDITION:

Our next volume, 42ND STREET FOREVER: XXX-TREME SPECIAL EDITION, will feature over two hours (I think it clocks in at nearly 2:20!) of totally re-mastered vintage XXX porno trailers... the perfect "perv" compilation! LOL! All were mastered in 1.78:1 from 35mm elements as well.

We'll be announcing this in the next few days for a February release.

It won't technically be a "Volume" (ie. Volume 3) of 42ND STREET FOREVER, because, being porno, it won't be in all the stores the others were because of content, so it's being released as a separate SPECIAL EDITION one-off release.

If volume two is a success, then we will put together a third volume. Many folks who have vintage 35mm exploitation/horror trailers have emailed us and, if you think you have something you'd like to contribute, feel free to email me a list of what you have.

For more on this, check out this thread over at the DVD Maniacs Forum.

Oh the joy!

Nebraska Jim

I thought it was time for some good ol' spaghetti western, so today you get a nice German trailer for Nebraska Jim aka. Gunman called Nebraska aka. Savage Gringo aka. Ringo del Nebraska.

It was made in 1966 and directed by Mario Bava, but credited to Antonio Román. Román was fired by the producer because he didn't shoot the film fast enough, so Bava was hired to do the rest, about 90% of the film. For reasons unknown to me, Bava didn't get the credit on the finished product.

This trailer has no dialogue or voice-over. Only sound effects and amazing whistling from someone that can be no other than Alessandro Alessandroni! I love this guy!

Check it out here, 7,39Mb.

Changed the template...again + DVD news

Yes, time for a new look to the site. I'm still not happy with the look, but I like this better than the previous one.

In other news, it looks like that the Smut Palace Insanity from Ban 1 Productions is going to be shipped sometime next week! I've been waiting for over two months for this trailer collection, so I'm pretty excited now.

Also on the order is the Cumming Soon! collection from Lucky Banana.

And last, the resently released Shock DVD 66 Trailers, a collection of, you guessed right - 66 trailers. It's released by Italian Shock and features trailers from films they've released on DVD. It's a mix of Asian and Italian trailers/films.

All can be ordered from the best shop on the net: Xploited Cinema

Dawn of the Dead (1978)

George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead was the sequel to Night of the Living Dead that came out ten years before, in 1968. Since then Romero made Day of the Dead (1985) and Land of the Dead (2005). A fifth film in the series is in the making, it's called Diary of the Dead and is supposed to come out in 2007.

Night and Dawn has both been remade, Day is beeing remade as we speak. I liked the Dawn remake (haven't seen Night remake) so it'll be interresting to see if the can make the Day remake as good as the Dawn remake. I didn't care much for the original Day, I found it somewhat boring. Nice effects and all, but I didn't like the story.

When Dawn of the Dead was released in Europe, it was slightly reedited by Dario Argento (whose brother Claudio had been a producer on the film), and a new soundtrack was made by Goblin. It was also retitled Zombie: Dawn of the Dead, or Zombie, or Zombi. So many titles...

For your viewing pleasure, I have trailers for both versions. Funny to see what's focused on in the trailers. It's slightly more gore and action in the European one.

Dawn of the Dead, American style: 9,39Mb.

Zombie: Dawn of the Dead, European style: 12,8Mb.

This film also has one of the best taglines ever: When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.

Enjoy it before hell becomes full!

Update 13th november: I didn't know about this, but it seems that someone has made a remake of NOTLD in 3D. Check out the official site here, and the trailer here (QT, direct download, 14,7Mb). This version is made without the involvement of Romero, just so you know. Looks pretty cool though.

YouTube Trailer: Hostel part II

A teaser for Eli Roths Hostel part II is out and it is pretty sweet. I kinda liked the first part: okey, not an original story or good actors and all that (it's a teen horror, what do you expect?), but it had lots of gore and shit! And I like lots of gore and shit. I looooooove it!

I like the fact that the voice-over in this teaser is in German, I think it's a nice and unusual touch for an American horror flick. It starts with a very short introduction by Roth himself.

Check it out:

Although I'm not that big a fan of YouTube trailers (I prefer the ones that I can download to my HD), I'll from time to time put up one here, most of them will be for films that hasn't been released in the theater yet.

From Dusk Till Dawn

From Dusk Till Dawn is a collaboration between Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, where Rodriguez directed it and Tarantino scripted it. It's a cross between a heist/road movie and a vampire flick. A little weird combination, but trust me, it's worth the time!

It spawned to sequels, none of which RR or QT wrote or directed. I think they prouced them though. I've seen the third, set in the 1800's, and it pretty much sucked ass. Stay away from it.

Check out the trailer here, at 5,37Mb.
