Shogun Assassin

Shogun Assassin is made up of the first two Lone Wolf and Cub films, Sword of Vengeance (1972) and Babycart at the River Styx (1972) both directed by Kenji Misumi. The American Robert Houston coompiled clips from the films, mainly the second, and released it on the American market in 1980.

The trailer is pretty cool, showing us how bad the Lone Wolf and his Cub really is. The Wolf is awsome with his sword, and his son is also pretty bad, with is babycart that has more secret weapons than an average James Bond car! Some blood are shown, but not nearly as much as it is in the film itself. And believe me, it has alot of it.

Evil Dead

Sam Raimis cult classic from 1981 starring the one and only Bruce Campbell is one of the coolest films ever. Raimi was only 21 years old when he made this! The trailer is pretty cool, it show lots of cool camerawork that is used in the feature. It also shows some of the gore and demons from the film. And of course, it has Bruce aka. Ash, and his chainsaw!

The Last House On The Left

The second trailer here at Prevues is Wes Cravens rape-revenge flick from 1972 (it's also his first film as a director). Not much about the plot of the film is revealed in this trailer. The only persons we se in it are the two girls, Mari and Phyllis. One of them is running through the forest, the other is seen as she goes into a lake. The voice-over says "It rests on 13 acres of earth over the very center of hell", making it sound like it is a film about some occult shit. Also there is the chanting-like voices saying "It's only a movie" over and over again. A cool trailer that will not give you any information about what the film is about! Kinda makes me want to see it again.

Download it here. Size is 5Mb. Enjoy, and remember:

Blood And Black Lace

Considering the date it is today, I probably should have started this with the trailer for The Omen (Richard Donner, 1976). But sadly I haven't seen the film, nor do I have the trailer. But I do have a really great one for you. A French trailer for Mario Bava's supercool giallo-flick Blood And Black Lace from 1964!

The trailer starts showing the six female victims, each given their own number. The number indicating in which sequence they are murdered. It was released under the title 6 Femmes Pour L'Assasin, wich means 6 women for the killer. Next it shows footage from the fashion-house, where all the action is sentered. Then comes the presentation of the main actors and actresses. All accompanied with the score made by Carlo Rustichelli, which it very good!

A classic trailer for a classic film. Download the trailer here. I have used WinRar, and is 10,4Mb.

Welcome!

Welcome to Prevues Of Coming Attractions! Technically not coming attractions, since this site is not gonna focus on new movies. This site is dedicated to showing you some great trailers from older movies. It's sort of like a trailer-review site, where you can download the trailers reviewed. Once in a while, I'll probably do a review for a DVD too, but it'll be trailer-related.

About the name: I originally had intended a different name for the site, but that was taken. So I chose another one... also taken. Then I happened upon a cool little video on the Internet Archive. It was an old introduction to trailers that were going to be shown. Check it out here. So that is the story about the name.

The trailers will be in DivX/XviD-avi format. I had plans to make the same quality for all the trailers, but software troubles forces me to use a different program than intended, that is not the best. But the quality will not be bad. Approximatly it will be about 4Mb per minute, the width of the image 400+ pixels. The trailers will be hosted at a good server, but eventually (in August sometime) I'll probably start using torrent.

Until then, enjoy! Please feel free to leave comments!
