Halloween

Did you expect another trailer?! It's officially the 31st of October in Norway, so I'm gonna post it now because tomorrow (or today as is more correct to say) I'll be busy.

Enjoy it here, 8,93Mb.

And as a bonus, you get a nice copy of the poster that I think I found over at the Posterwire.com. Just click on the poster to get a bigger version. If you want more halloween/scary-themed posters, head over to The Poster Pit.

Giallorama #3: Sergio Martino

Sergio Martino is one of my favourite directors within the giallo genre. It's too bad he hasn't gotten all the attention he deserves, as he almost always is compared to Bava and Argento. IMO he has made som of the finest films within the genre. Here you get three of the five giallos he's made. I've previously posted Torso, the last one - Your vice is a looked room and only I have the key - I don't have the trailer for.

Check the trailers out here.

Visitor number 1000

Well, today Prevues reached number 1000! after only 4 months and 3 weeks. 1/3 of the visits has come the last month or so, actually over 1/3. Must say I'm pretty satisfied, considering I have done very little to advertise my site.

Thanks to all of you that have visited me!!

Onar Films Update

For those of you that has visited the official Onar Films site the last day or so will see that Bill has given us som updates on the upcoming release of the Turkish double-bill. Copied straight from the source (it looks bad, but I'm to lazy to fix it):

Hi there!I thought this is a good time to start the
chronicle of my new release.I'm talking about a double-bill dvd with 2 early
70's Turkish HORROR movies. The first is ASKA SUSAYANLAR SEKS VE CINAYET meaning THIRSTY FOR LOVE SEX AND MURDERAnd the 2nd is OLULER KONUSMAZ KI meaning THE DEAD DON'T TALK. Back in May, I was romantic and foolish enough to believe I could get this out in June or July the latest! And everything looked so simple and well calculated...Early May, I sent the 2 films for subtitling to the person that did 3 Dev Adam's subs, in Istanbul. He was the one who had fallen from the 4th floor in the elevator, remember? And he promised me, full of
certainty, that both movies would be ready at the end of May, ok?At the
same time, I sent money to a good friend in Istanbul to get a few interviews for
me and he promised he would finish them at the end of May. Then he would just
hand them to my translator and they would be ready early June.Meanwhile, the
studio here was ready to work on the material of the 2 movies, do some
remastering from the dvd-rs the Turks had sent me etc....So, according to these
simple facts the dvd would be out late June or July the latest...BUT...... I
forgot 1 crucial thing...The DEVIL had not forgotten about me!! He still wanted
to send me to hell and back again a few more times...SO....1- My translator
disappears all of a sudden!!! No emails no answering my calls, no nothing!!
...2- My friend with the interviews disappears too till September!!!...3- The
studio here tells me they can't work with the dvd-rs of the movies and they need
the betamasters....
AND....1- ...I manage to relocate another friend in
Istanbul- the one who was attacked and wounded by gangsters and was hiding away
for months, remember?? So, this blessed man finds me another translator and
promises I'll have the subs in 10 days...2- ...The same friend above manages to
contact the interview guy who confesses he had had various accidents in the
summer and was bloody busy with personal projects. He also said the actors and
directors I wanted interviewed were super hard to find and get
talking!....3- ...All the producers asked for lots of extra money to lend me
their betamasters ALTHOUGH our contracts clearly mention that they MUST lend
them to me! And I'm talking about 10 movies, ok??...
FINALLY...1- ...I got
the subs for the 2 movies 3 days ago BUT they proved disasterous for many
technical reasons!! No way to work with them!!...2- ...The interview guy just
announced he actually prepared the interviews for this release!!!!...3- ... My
BLESSED friend, my SAVIOUR, managed to get ALL BETAMASTERS and make HIGH QUALITY
BETA DUPLICATES!!...
AND NOW...1- ... My SAVIOUR just found the BEST
subtitling studio in Istanbul and in 2 days he will give them the movies and in
a couple of weeks the latest the subs WILL BE definitely ready!2- ...From
day to day the interview guy will hand the interviews to my SAVIOUR and he
will forward them for subs too which means that in about 20 days the blody
interviews will be 100% ready!3- ...In 4-5 days the betamasters will be in my
hands and then straight to the studio for the best remastering
possible.
**The quality of ASKA SUSAYANLAR... is not perfect of course but
very good, given ONAR's standards. It's a colour film and apart from some
scratches the colours will be quite good and the picture clear enough. In other
words, the quality will be MUCH MUCH BETTER than 3 DEV ADAM's.**## The quality
of OLULER... will be EVEN BETTER. Remember the quality of KILINK STRIP AND
KILL?? Well, it looks like it will be even better, which means ALMOST excellent.
It's a b/w film that has never been out on vhs nor vcd not dvd nor even aired on
tv, so the original print was found to be almost intact. I feel really proud of
this OBSCURE PRECIOUS FINDING!##
This should mean that at the end of
November the blasted and bloody and cursed DVD will definitely be out!I will get
back here for the latest developments next week. Ciao!Bill

This is GREAT news! I'm really looking forward to this release! I you haven't checked out the trailer for ASKA SUSAYANLAR... check it out here.

Robert E. Howards "Conan The Barbarian" & "Red Sonja"

Robert E. Howard (1906-1936) created the coolest character in the history of fantasy fiction, and his name is Conan! Two movies about Conan has been made, Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer. The first is the best, and also the one you get a trailer for (because I don't have the other one, if I had, you'd have got it ;). Howard also created Red Sonya, a character that made the basis for Red Sonja as we know her from the comics and the film.

Conan is, as you probably know, played by the one and only Ahnuld! Did you know he has a middle name? And that it is Alois?! Aka. The Austrian Oak, and The Governator... how the hell did he became the governor of California?

Anyway, here they are:

Giallorama #2: Dario Argento

Dario Argento is probably the best director within the giallo genre, and also the most popular one. He made his debutefilm The Bird With The Crystal Plumage in 1970, and pretty much set the standard for how a giallo was going to be made. Check out some of his best films here.

Does anybody have a good copy of a trailer for Four Flies On Grey Velvet?? I think there is one on one of the DVD-R's released by Something Weird Video. If someone has it and can rip it (preferably to .vob-files) for me, please contact me.

The first batch of giallo trailers. Sorry for you guys who have visited my site before, but this is just all the giallotrailers I have already uploaded. Thing is I wanted to have all the giallotrailers in the same place (more convenient that way). But rest assured that a new batch will come soon!

Check them all out here.

DVD Recommendation: Trailer Trash

Trailer Trash is actually the name I intended to use for this blog before I started it, but it was (and still is taken), so I decided to use the name I have now. Why am I talking about this? Because after an introduction from Dom DeLuise and one of those “Welcome to the theatre” messages, you get to see this:

Pretty sweet! I have only seen this animation used by Grindhouse Releasing for their intro. Anyway, after the intros you get the following 44 trailers:

- All This And World War II
- Blacula
- Lola
- Sister Street Fighter
- Mad Machine
- The Wonderful Land of Oz
- Big Dog Lost
- Bless the Beasts And Children
- Prelude To Happiness
- The Diary Of Knockers McCalla
- The Street Fighter’s Last Revenge
- The Amazing Dr. Chicken
- ABBA: The Movie
- Bummer
- The Touchables
- Teenage Gang Debs
- The Girl, The Body And The Pill
- The Switcheroo
- The Bodyguard
- Real Life
- Stunt Rock
- Can Hieronymous Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?
- Use The Back Door
- Seven Brothers Meet Dracula
- Kiss The Girls And Make Them Die
- The Molesters
- The Candy Snatchers
- The Telephone Book
- Voodoo Heartbeat
- Exorcist II: The Heretic
- Devil Woman
- Bruka: Queen of Evil
- The Sin Syndicate
- Olga’s Dance Hall Girls
- The Wild
- World Of Batwoman
- Sweet Sugar
- The Sadist
- Movie Star American Style, or LSD I Hate You
- Musical Mutiny
- Zabriskie Point
- Dolemite
- Coonskin
- Jonathan Livingston Seagull

In between them, there are some info-messages from the theatre and commercials from local shops, about ten of these.

As an extra you also get a educational film from the 60’s, titled Chucky Lou: The Story of a Woodchuck. A seven minutes shortfilm about a big rodent.

Trailer Trash is released by The Chucky Lou A/V Club, and is released on DVD-/+R. (It’s supposed to be only DVD+R, but my DVD player played it without hesitation and it can’t play + discs, so I'm guessing they changed it.) All the trailers are sourced from original film-material, so the quality is decent. There is lots of print damage on some of the trailers but to be honest that is part of the charm. Just don’t expect perfect image. A good mix of fullscreen and letterboxed/widescreen.

The trailers range from blaxploitation and sexploitation, to weird Asian vampire flicks and Sonny Chiba action. Something for everybody! Definitely recommended!!! Be sure to order it now, because this is a limited release of only 500 copies. Buy it so these good folks can make a “sequel.” (Order info is at the bottom of the post.)

It’s also a nice touch that the release is “Dedicated to the voices: Ron Gans, Adolph Caesar, Don LaFontaine, Percy Rodrigues, Jack Wagner, Paul Frees and The Real Don Steele.”

A few samples for your viewing pleasure:

This Swedish group skyrocketed in 1974 when they won the Eurovision Song Contest with their song Waterloo. In 1977 director Lasse Hallström followed the group’s Australian tour, and the result is ABBA: The Movie.

You can say what you want about this band, but if you start playing one of their most famous songs after you have had a few beers, everybody will know it. And they will dig it!!

Check it out here, 9,79Mb.

The second prevue from Trailer Trash is the Sonny Chiba flick, The Bodyguard. If you know who Chiba is, you know is one helluva tough motherfucker. If you don’t know who he is, read it out loud: “Sonny Chiba is one helluva tough MOTHERFUCKER!!! “

If you ever wondered where Tarantino got the Ezekiel 25:17 speech from Pulp Fiction, it is from the beginning of this film. We don’t get to hear it in this trailer, but I just thought I should mention it. I used to have an audio recording of the speech on my computer, but sadly I don’t have it at the moment, so I can’t share it with you guys.

Why is the karate dude touching that other guys balls all the time?

Anyway, check it out here, 14,6Mb. Viva Chiba! Viva Chiba! Viva Chiba!

Grindhouse

If you haven't already seen it, a trailer for the upcoming Tarantino/Rodriguez film Grindhouse is out. It features footage from at least Rodriguez' part Planet Terror, and from one of the fake trailers that is going to be between the two films.

I must admit that I'm almost more excited about the Machete footage than the rest! This trailer looks so frickin' AWSOME!!! Danny Trejo is the baddest looking mo-fo there ever was! I hope this film gets made in Grindhouse 2 (they have to make G2!).

The trailer at youtube.com

If you don't like youtube, I have posted an .avi-version here, 14,9Mb (TV rip).

Enjoy!!

Friday The 13th

I'm really starting to believe there is a curse on friday the 13th. When I tried to rip this trailer I got no audio. So I tried to change the settings from mp3 to ac3 audio, then the program crashed. Finally I had to use a different program, one that I'm not that fond of, to get it done.

Friday the 13th is probably the mother of all American slasherfilms, and has spawned like 10 sequels, everyone worse than the other.

If you want to see a real slasher, check out Mario Bavas A Bay Of Blood, the film that Friday pretty much get all its plot and killing methods from!

Anyway, I'm gonna see this film tonight, accompanied with lots of delicious beer. How about you?

Check it out here, 9Mb.

Secret Friday #3

Prevues switches to Beta

I've switched over to the beta version of Blogger. Which means that I've lost the nice popcorn template I had so I can take full advantage of the features in the beta version, but I'm going to see if I can customize it a little.

One nice fearure is that I can ad labels/tags to the posts, so it will be easier to find similar trailers.

Update 12.00:
- added links. If you feel you should be in the list just let me know ;)
- added tags/labels to all previous posts

Does anybody know how to add a picture on the top?

Did you post your comment today?!

Thanks to you guys who have been posting comments lately, it's nice to see that someone appreciate the work I'm doing here :D

If you download a trailer, even if you don't like it, let me know! Comments are always nice to get. It takes time to run this blog, and the only "payment" I get is the comments, so... make one!

What else? Let's see... I'm planning to put a whole bunch of giallo-trailers some time soon. I have at the moment about 30 ready to go. Other plans I have include: Sergio Leone, Ed Wood, spaghetti westerns, cannibal flicks, snuff, video nasties, and some DVD recommendations. Maybe some comedies... who knows ;)

So check back regularly.

Coming this friday: Friday the 13th, and the 3rd Secret Friday!

Fulci #4: The End... or is it?

What the hell, why wait? The fourth and last wave of Fulci trailers for your enjoyment! Check them out here, as always.

The fourth (and last) group of trailers will most likely come some time this week. Be sure to check the site the coming friday... the 13th!

Torso

It's time for a new giallo, and I thought Sergio Martino's Torso (1972) was a good choice, especially since SkunkApe has put up the soundtrack here. Great soundtrack by the way!

Check it out here, 9,61Mb.

I Spit On Your Grave

If you're gonna see only one rape-revenge flick in yuor life, this is the one you have to see! One of the most violent films within the genre. This trailer is a little revealing when it comes to the methods the girl takes her revenge, but all the good stuff is left out.

Check it out here, 10Mb.

Also check out The Poster Pit for lots of cool posters and lobbycards from the film here, here, and here.

Ghost World

This is an great trailer for Terry Zwigoffs 2001 adaptation of the underground comic by the same name, made by Daniel Clowes. One of the cool things in it is that it also features footage from a Bollywood production called Gumnaam (Raja Nawathe, 1965), from one of the dancing/siniging scenes. The song Jaan Pehechan Ho is sung by Mohammed Rafi.

A little trivia I found here: In the theatrical trailer, when Seymour is asked by Enid if he would go out with anyone, he says "As long as she's breathing". In the movie, he replies with a non-comedic answer.

I just love the last line in this trailer! If you want to know what that is, check it out here, 7,48Mb. (The trailer has chinese subtitles.)

If you like the Gumnaam footage, you can check out the whole scene here (about 55Mb .mov) or a better copy here [direct download] (121Mb .mpg).
