Latest Onar Films News

The latest news from our man i Greece:

JANUARY 29- 2007Where were we? Yes, I wanted to release a turkish horror
double-bill. All these past weeks I've been trying to find the authoring
soul-taking cursed guy who moved to another town in the country. So what's the
idea with him? He never picks up his phone... he never calls me...and if he
picks it up all he says is "I'm up to the neck with work-my work- and very soon
I'll take care of your work! Bye now!"He promised that by the end of this week
he will send me the final master of the dvd. I'll check it and if it looks ok
I'll send it to the factory rightaway and after a week or so it's ready. BUT,
will he send it this week?? And IF he does, will it be really ok?All these
crucial and of paramount importance questions will be properly answered in 1
week. Stay tuned! Hey, this reminds me of those tv series where each episode
ended at a cliffhanger. So, let's stick to the spirit and have a break for some
cool commercials!!!..............I already gave photo material for my next
double-bill with TURKISH SUPERMAN/SUPERMEN DONUYOR & DEMIR YUMRUK DEVLER
GELIYOR! In 1 week I guess I'll have the cover art ready to put up here!!!I
intend to release this dvd no later than 40 days from
now!!!.................................................I've also started talks
with Cuneyt Arkin in order to secure copyrights for some of his best and
weirdest and extremest films. The first titles to get will sure be OLUM
SAVASCISI/DEATH WARRIOR & its prequel SON SAVASCISI.I just hope I'll seal a
deal no matter what as I really MUST release those films on a decent
dvd!.............................................Now I must go to sleep... more
commercials soon!AND THE HORROR 2-BILL WILL PROBABLY BE OUT MIDDLE FEBRUARY,
DAMN IT!!

Lawrence of Arabia

An old classic directed by David Lean, based on a true story. This film is also a classic example of how the studios in Hollywood started to make big blockbusters with massive sets and locations in an attempt to prevent television to take over the audience.

Check it out here, 14,5Mb.

The Godfather Trilogy

I thought that it was time to post another trilogy, it's been a while since last time. And who better than The Godfather trilogy?! The best crime/mafia/gangster films of all time! If you haven't seen these films... then I feel sorry for you. Really sorry.

Part I, 10,4Mb. If you haven't seen this film, you probably shouldn't see this trailer, because it pretty much retells the entire story through the use of stillframes from the film. Only at the end is there live footage.

Part II, 12Mb. This trailer starts with about a minute telling us about all the Academy Awards it won (6!). And it deserved all of them. One of the few sequells, IMO, that is better than the first.

Part III, 12,9Mb. This trailer starts with about a minute of footage from the first two parts. Many people have said that this film ain't as good as the first two, that it shouldn't have been made at all, and so on... DON'T LISTEN TO THEM!!! This is a great film. Enough said! Voice-over by Don LaFontaine!

These trailers are an offer you can't refuse!

The Hills Have Eyes

Wes Craven's second film, The Hills Have Eyes (1977), made five years after Last House on the Left. Got a remake in 2006. Very nice trailer. Here, 7,8Mb.

Plan 9 From Outer Space

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but I just had my final exam yesterday, and school is starting and other stuff... things that takes a lot of time. But now I'm back, so here a little gem for you guys: Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Words can't really describe this film. Often considered the worst film of all time. Not really true if you ask me... it's bad, yes, but Ed Wood really loved the art of filmmaking. I wonder how this film would have been if he had gotten a big Hollywood blockbuster budget.
Probably the best film in his career. Enjoy the trailer here, at 5,62Mb.

AdSense is gone!

A few days ago I added Google Adsense on the site. I wrote this:

I'm going to try out Google Adsense for a while... maybe I can make a few bucks so that I can buy an extra trailer-dvd once in a while. So click on those ads ;)

Because of this, they wouldn't allow me to be a part of their little group. It seems that it is not allowed to encourage people to click on the ads. If I want to be a part of their program, I have to erase all traces of me asking you to click the ads... so now the ads are gone. Maybe I'll try out some other ads... who knows what the future will bring. Maybe Criswell knows?

This is a pretty cool disc considering that the price is only a few dollars. Not all the trailers are especially interesting or good, but at that price it’s okay. What I don’t like though, are the ugly watermark that’s been branded into all of the trailers. It’s not that annoying, you get used to it, but it is unnecessary.

The quality of the trailers varies, but most of them are pretty decent. All but a very few are presented in fullscreen.

Two hours of entertainment for a few bucks: recommended!

Some weird samples for you:

Night of the Bloody Apes (with a little teaser for Feast of Flesh at the nd) is one of the best trailers on the disc. Plenty of gore makes this a nice little trailer. It also shows some of the authentic footage from an open heart surgery. Not for those who don't like blood. Here, 10,8Mb.

The second trailer is for The Gruesome Twosome, a Psycho inspired film about a mother and son killing-team. Starts with a warning to the audience that if you are the least bit squeamish, turn your head! Here, at 7,8Mb.
